It all began with a wandering Black woman
Founded during a day of divine inspiration and lifelong passion, Gallery Flâneur is the love child of all my artistic interests. Writing and Art History have been a constant in my life since adolescence but I’d always confined myself to being a silent observer outside of academic settings. If you’ve ever felt the same way, this is a website to read, display, and learn about artists like yourself. Here, you can read or watch my personal reviews of the latest local exhibits I’ve visited, while also browsing through artists yet to be displayed in a major gallery or published in a famous literary magazine.
As a Black woman, I’m starting this blog with the intention of it growing into a community for Black artists/writers to display their work without the judgment of “High Art” snobbery. We are all beacons of creativity as humans and I believe every story told through art is uniquely yours. As a perpetual student of life, I’m creating this space, not only to acquire more knowledge of art and art analysis, but to provide an insight into art pieces you may or may not have wandered upon.
